The Rising Sun Sushi & Fusion Restaurant is located on Wilson Rd., just South of the Sam Houston Tollway in North Houston. This Asian Fusion restaurant on the Northside specializes in Sushi, but also offers an amazing variety of delightful dishes. You can bet on that!

As you enter the Rising Sun Sushi & Fusion Restaurant, the first thing you run up on is the bar. Rising Sun has an amazing Happy Hour and there was no doubt about that. The bar area was filled with a mixture of people laughing and sipping on their favorite cocktails. I can really get use to this kind of atmosphere. We sat at the sushi bar, but there are booths, tables and family or group sized tables as well. They have different seating depending on what your party’s needs are. The décor is classy and cool… I am very impressed.

The menu at the Rising Sun Sushi & Fusion Restaurant is vast and has so many options to choose from. Luckily, we had a few people with us, so this allowed us to order even more from the menu than usual. Get ready for this… Ha! We ordered the Stuffed Jalapenos, Cajun Edamame, Regular Edamame, Rising Sun Special Fried Rice, Sashimi Deluxe, Seafood Yaki Soba, Sushi Combo, Kobe Beef Hot Rock, Kobe Beef Burger and the Crispy Grouper Filet. Our drink list included Kurayoshi 18, the Rising Sun Martini, Licheetini, a Sapporo Reserve and Haku Saki. As you can see, we had a wonderful time, and everything was so fresh and delicious. My two favorite menu items were the Kobe Beef Hot Rock and the Crispy Grouper Filet.

The Kobe Beef Hot Rock kind of speaks for itself. Kobe Beef is Kobe Beef and one of my favorites. If you haven’t ever tried this Beef, then you must try this dish. It’s not only a mouth-watering entrée, but it’s and experience as well. You are served with a plate full of thinly sliced Kobe Beef strips and then an extremely hot rock in which you cook each strip of Beef to your liking. I just kind of sear it and keep it medium rare. This allows the Beef to be more flavorful and moister. Wow!!! That’s all I have to say about that!

My next favorite dish at Rising Sun Sushi & Fusion Restaurant was the Crispy Grouper Filet. I love Grouper to begin with, but I haven’t ever had a whole Grouper Fried. This was my first time to experience this entrée and I can’t say enough about it. The Grouper was so fresh and crispy. The flavor was outstanding and to be honest with you I pretty much hoarded it to myself. Ha! Seriously.

It doesn’t matter if you are looking for a great place to enjoy Lunch, Happy Hour or Dinner… Rising Sun Sushi & Fusion Restaurant has you covered. It doesn’t matter if you are looking for a great place to enjoy a meal by yourself, with friends, family or that special someone… Rising Sun Sushi & Fusion Restaurant is there for you. It doesn’t matter if you want Sushi or Asian Fusion… Rising Sun Sushi & Fusion Restaurant will take care of you. I think you get the point. Enjoy!
