Fanoosh – Biryani + Burger is located in Sugar Land, close to the Southwest freeway in New Territory. Ive been thinking about these burgers for a while now, and now I am finally getting to experience them for myself!
As many of you know, I travel the country enjoying the best restaurants recommended by locals, but have spent about 15 years in Southern California. My best friends have now moved out to the suburbs of Houston and have let me in on this jewel… and I can now verify it is worth the drive, no matter where you live.
The first thing that I enjoyed right as I walked through the door is the relaxed and laid back ambience. I’m checking out the menu, while the aroma of sizzling burgers fill the air. I am in heaven.
At Fanoosh, quality is obviously their first priority. I appreciated the tentative service with a smile. You can tell that the people working here really enjoy what they do… or at least great actors. Ha!
The burgers at Fanoosh are all built with a ½ lb of fresh, top notch meat made in house daily. You won’t find frozen patties in this joint, no way. The juicy burgers here, will definitely make your mouth water… that I quickly found out for myself.
Not only will you find big ‘ole burgers here, but when it comes to the Biryani… they are as authentic as it gets! It is a homemade recipe that has not be compromised for quality to sell at a larger scale or volume. Preparation is made from scratch every day from preparing the masala, rice and the meat! Its all about “Savor the Flavor” when it comes to their Biryani. Confirmed.
As usual, we tried several different menu items. I always have a few favorites and at Fanoosh I literally loved everything I put in my mouth, but my 3 favorites were the Goat Biryani, Philly Cheese Burger and the Swiss Mushroom Burger. All GOOD!!!
The Goat Biryani is prepared with one of the most naturally tender meats in the world along with Extra Long Basmati rice and homemade spices. I know many of you won’t believe me because I have enjoyed Goat at some of the best restaurants in the world, but I haven’t ever tasted Goat this good. The entrée comes with a ton of meat, it’s enough for two. The wonderful blend of spices takes me to on an exotic vacation overseas. I like vacation, and I love this Goat Biryani from Fanoosh – Biryani + Burger.
Another favorite of the day was the Philly Cheese Burger built with a 1/2 lb beef patty, 1/4 lb rib eye steak, bell peppers, caramelized onions, American yellow cheese. I had them cook my burger medium and it came out as juicy as it would if it was medium rare. The rib eye steak and caramelized onions really sent this burger over the top. WOW! This is a meat eater burger for sure.
The Swiss Mushroom Burger is one of my go to’s at any burger spot I go to, so I knew it would be one of my favorites here and sure enough I was right. This burger starts with a /2 lb beef patty and then stacked high with Sautéed Mushrooms, Caramelized Onions and Swiss Cheese. Is that something you would be interested in??? Me? Of course!
My trip to Sugar Land was one I will not son forget. I must add Fanoosh – Biryani + Burger to my burger joint rotation. Not only do they have creative burgers, but they haven’t forgotten the base of a good burger… the freshness and quality of the meat, and for that guys, I thank you!

1/2 Lb beef patty, American Yellow Cheese, Lettuce, Onions, Tomato served with Fanoosh sauce on the side.

Philly Cheese Burger
1/2 lb beef patty, 1/4 lb rib eye steak, bell peppers, caramelized onions, american yellow cheese
Fiery Cheese Melt
1/2 lb beef patty, hickory smoked beef bacon, grilled serrano peppers, american yellow cheese, fire sauce
Mac Daddy Burger
1/2 lb beef patty topped off with fresh in house made Mac N Cheese.
1/2 lb beef patty, Sauteed Mushrooms, Caramelized Onions, Swiss Cheese
Beef House Fries
Seasoned Fries topped off with chopped beef burger, diced onions, chopped cilantro and Fanoosh Sauce.
